About Ms. Hegyi
Welcome to Room B206! I am very excited to work with your child this year. Fourth grade is a wonderful and exciting year for children. It is a year to grow socially, intellectually, and creatively. Your child will succeed in those areas through individual goal setting, instruction, and teamwork. Room is a positive environment that allows your child to feel apart of a community. It is my goal to help each student succeed, grow, and feel confident in all areas of school. Let's make this a great year!
My personal life:
This is my 5th year teaching. I've taught 3rd, 4th, and 8th grade in Wisconsin and loved every single grade! 4th grade, though, has been very special to me because of the independence, love of learning, and exciting new learning opportunities. I had the opportunity to attend Columbia University's Teacher's College in New York to study Reader's Workshop and work along side some of the greatest literacy minds. From there, I became a Program Educator where I presented professional development for my district about how to teach literacy for all levels.
I was originally born in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. My family and I moved to Wisconsin when I was very young and I grew up there. I now live in Castle Rock but the majority of my family now lives in Montana. I love hiking, beach volleyball, paddle boarding, and anything to do with the outdoors. I have traveled to many places including Hawaii, France, Jamaica, and I even hiked the Inca Trail in Peru. I can’t forget, of course, that I have a really big dog--he’s a 2 year old Great Pyrenees/Retriever mix.
If you need to contact me about your child or anything, please feel free to do so! The best way to contact me is through email at [email protected]. I can also be reached by phone at school. Please allow 24 hours for a response!
